An introduction to Stikovica Zaton

The small town of Stikovica enjoys a great location overlooking the stunningly beautiful Zaton Bay, before stretching out into the bright turquoise waters of the Adriatic. Visitors like to come here to relax and unwind in the peaceful surroundings and live life at a slower pace for a week or two. The beach at Zaton Bay is a pebbly one but the clear and sheltered water makes it a real pleasure to swim in. Back from the beach you'll find things pretty low key without any big resort hotels or roaring traffic. What you will find though is a great choice of local restaurants in which to test out a few of the local delicacies, whilst taking in the glorious sea view. When you've had chance to relax a little and fancy getting out and about you can visit the nearby villages of Veliki Zaton and Mali Zaton, which are just along the coast. There's also a stylish collection of Renaissance style villas lining the seafront that are worth a look. For some real action and major sightseeing just travel ten kilometres southwest and you're in Dubrovnik. Spend a day wandering the cobbled streets of the medieval old town and following the path of the city walls, for fantastic views of the cathedral and streets of bright orange rooftops glowing in the sunshine, before setting out to sample the nightlife.
